No matter your politics, I think everyone wants a WH that is functioning. You
may not like the policies it has been charged with carrying out, but you want
it to be able to function. The environment of chaos that the President has
created has made that impossible.

I once worked - for a time - as a litigation consultant for a law firm I came
to consider toxic to it's employees.

This firm had delusions of grandeur, and had made a rash leap from a
moderately sized building to taking over two floors of a high rise office
building. As reality struck the partners, they decided they had to cut
employees.

But, instead of having a strategic meeting where they decided how many, and
who, to lay off, and executing that plan, they extended the pain over many
weeks.

For weeks, someone would be called in, then go clear it out their desk or
office, and be escorted to the door - no client compromised.

No one knew who would be next, when it might happen, how many ultimately would
be fired. Going to work every morning was an exercise in bravery.

Morale, of course, was non-existent. People were not focused on their jobs, on
the cases to be worked, the good of the client. Everyone, every chance they
got, commiserated and speculated on who was next. Peoples lives were ruined
every day. It was torture.

Imagine this same scenario in the people's house. You go to work every day
wondering if your mentor, your boss, you, will be there through the day.

Governing? Nary a thought.
